I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Hut to Hut Hiking. They were exceedingly responsive, patiently answering my many emails' worth of questions about itineraries, schedules, logistics, and the like as I planned a self-guided trip. They helped to create an absolutely perfect trek despite the limited time I had and they provided helpful information for me to organize travel to and from the start and end points. Hut to Hut's communication is professional and the itinerary and GPS tracking information they sent me once I paid/booked was flawless. The trails were easy to follow, Ride with GPS worked perfectly (I was already familiar with the app), and I was so grateful to have relied on a company to facilitate my route in a country where I was unfamiliar. I'm used to planning my own routes, but Hut to Hut Hiking's expertise and insight made the entire experience infinitely more pleasant. I would highly recommend using Hut to Hut for your multi-day hiking needs in Slovenia. It's worth it!
A fantastic 3 day self guided Hut to Hut hike around Triglav National Park in Slovenia. We experienced a full range of weather which made it an unforgettable trip. The organisation and back up support with GPS maps etc was excellent. Hut staff were friendly and very happy to give advice and suggestions on the routes and directions. Would recommend.
Exceptional “Panorama 3 day Hike to Pokjuka Plateau” October 6-8. Stayed first night at Hotel Jelka (which I highly recommend) because Blejska hut was fully booked. The hotel is a nice option as it has been fully renovated and is close to the hut but offers hot showers and a private room! Second night was at Uskovnica hut which could use updating but offers lots of outdoor patio space, hot & cold running water and indoor flush toilets, much appreciated. It is accessible to day hikers so busy mid afternoon on a sunny Sunday! My guide Klemen, was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, helpful and kind! Every detail of our route was carefully planned to make the experience perfect for me. Assistance was generously offered and accepted through rough scree coming down from the shoulder. Pace and snack breaks were set to meet my needs exactly and Klemen is a super friendly person. I was alerted about dangerous karst crevices and places where there were steep steps and tricky spots to navigate. All of which made my experience stress-free and fun, as well as extremely safe. I can’t find enough words to express how much I recommend Triglav Tours and particularly my guide Klemen Gerbec. Triglav National Park is spectacular- don’t miss it!
My friends and I did a 3 day hut-to-hut hike in Triglav National Park this summer and loved it! Our guide, Bine, was very knowledgeable and provided necessary equipment and fun facts through the hike. We really enjoyed the via ferrata experience and we were happy to have someone guide us through the more technical aspects. The overnights in the huts were a blast with our guide and the other girls on our tour as well. Great way to see Triglav National park and meet new people! I cannot recommend Triglav tours enough!!
I arranged a six-day/five-night trip with Hut to Hut Slovenia. It's the first time I've gone with a tour organizer and I can say it went really well. In the past I've arranged huts myself and it is a huge hassle figuring out how to make the bookings, if the bookings actually exist, and what good/viable routes might be. Having this all sort was, at least to me, totally worth it. The routing is via Ride with GPS, which was great. I'd recommend bringing 1:25,000 scale paper maps as a backup, just in case. The huts themselves differ wildly. Some are really rustic with, ahem, interesting toilet facilities. One was accessible by road and thus had showers, a long menu, and even espresso. All will have some sort of food, but you might only have two options for dinner (one with meat, one vegetarian). The cuisine in the Slovenian huts leans strongly to stews and goulashes with minimal fresh vegetables and/or fruit. Certainly good and hearty but pretty much everyone I talked to said the food was better in the Italian and Austrian huts. Some huts are cash only, some take cards (but the card reader might be down). A 1.5 litre bottle of water is about 6 euro, so if you have a beer with dinner and also buy lunch you need to carry about 25-30 euro per day in cash (assuming you have a booking that includes breakfast). Of the six days of hiking, four were ridiculously spectacular, with the highlight being sunrise from Mt Stol. Getting up to the high mountains, though, can be crazy steep, with switchbacks only sparsely used. Descents are similarly tough, and you have to watch every step. For the first time ever I used trekking poles and my knees thank me. Two days were a bit of a slog, but this is probably unavoidable getting up to or down from the high terrain. Would I do something like this again? Yes, absolutely! But next time it will probably be the Dolomites.
We had a lovely hike today with our guide Klemen. He personalized the tour on our needs and interests, so that we saw places we wouldn't without his experience. The hike was a little bit slippery after the rain from the last days and it went a lot upwards, but it was totally worth it! Thanks again :)
Tina and her team gave me perfect support on my hut hike through the Triglav National Park in July. In particular, they had to cater to my specific needs twice, which they did for me with no problem. I once had to cancel at short notice before the start of the trip because my father was not feeling well, but then we found a solution and I was able to start the hike. Tina and team first canceled the huts immediately and then reserved them again for me. Even when my condition caused a little tour change again, I immediately had suggestions and these were immediately available in the Trip plans app. I liked this app very much because it was easy to handle and the huttohut-team gave a short overview how the daily tour will be and which highlights – mostly beautiful views – I will see“

A fantastic hike in a fantastic company. We were a group of two couples on a hike and got along really well. Our guide Luka was fantastic, he took care of every little detail before and during the tour. He picked us up each at our hotels respectively and we made a short pit stop at a local bakery to get a second breakfast before starting the hike. The tour is extremely scenic, not too hard but far from easy three day hike where you see a great portion of the Alpe Guilia. The first day is quite long and you have a lot of uphill hiking of course but the second seemed like the hardest because of rockier terrain. The views are fantastic on the second day! The last day is a bit easier but we were already quite tired and were already looking forward to the end. I think I can recommend this tour to almost any hiker and even if you are not too experienced or fit the guide will always match your pace and make sure you are comfortable.
This was a truly amazing experience! We really enjoyed our beautiful Seven Lakes Valley hike with an overnight stay at a mountain hut. The alpine scenery of mountains throughout the hike was simply stunning especially the crystal clear emerald lakes, which are absolutely breathtaking! The cosy mountain hut was a lifesaver after a long day’s hike, dinner was hearty and delicious, atmosphere was lively and the beds were warm and comfortable - overall a great experience! What made it all the more enjoyable was being in the safe hands of our brilliant guide, Klemen who was not only very experienced, professional and knowledgeable, but he was also extremely helpful and accommodating. He went out of his way to take care of our needs during the journey. From the start, he was very responsive and proactive in helping us arrange our itinerary in the best way possible to maximise our time there. We also did a private rock climbing session with him after the hike and it was awesome! We definitely enjoyed our time in Slovenia with him and highly recommend going with this company and a private guide like him if you are looking for a customised trip.
We had an incredible trek! The itinerary was exactly what we wanted, communication was excellent with the company. They were so helpful throughout the planning process and when we were in country. Slovenia exceeded our expectations. We can't recommend them enough!
Our 3 day hike had to be rearranged 2/2 weather, so a one day hike was arranged for us. We appreciated the concern about weather and conditions. Our hike was with Matevz, who was a great guide. Very helpful and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend and will be back for a longer hike one day!

We had a lovely time and thought the route was great. We found that there was a nice balance of environments and places to stay. The GPS app was really easy to follow and made navigating easy along with all the other information provided. There were just a few points where information could be updated. 1. The pizzeria in trenta now says it is closed on Wednesdays not Mondays. This wasn't the end of the world as we were able to get food from the shop to cook. 2. On the soca valley day the section off the soca trail in the middle was a poorly kept path. Many trees had come down which we had to clamber over and if there is a section that day to be called adventurous it is definitely that section. 3. Further advice on luggage storage before the hike could be added. We found it was easy to store luggage at the tourist information in bohinj. 4. The price of the waterfall on the final day has increased to 4€ each But these are only minor and overall we had a fantastic time! Such a great adventure!
Beautiful guided route for our 3-day hut to hut. It included a variety of geography and landscapes and it challenged us in a good way. The organization and information we received from the company both before booking and during our trek was accurate and helpful. Our accommodations were as expected and they were comfortable enough and very welcoming. This was a wonderful way to be in the mountains and really experience them.

If I could give 100 stars, I would. I don't know if you're a big company or just two or three people behind this, but thank you for such an amazing experience. It was a beautiful adventure. The trails were perfect, each day different from the rest, and a natural beauty that I have seldom seen elsewhere. I had no experience in the world of hiking, and now I can't wait to do the next one! (hopefully next time organised by myself 😂). I had one of the best weeks of my whole life. Thank you a million guys.

My wife, son and I completed a 5-day privately guided hike in late August through the beautiful Julian Alps. Our guide Jan was amazing.....with rain of 3 out of 5 days, we were still able to hike every day (including an epic 11-mile hike on the last day) and think we ended up with an even better trip than originally planned! He was constantly checking the weather and pivoting us to different areas. Not originally planned was a hike in the wine region in which we visited a family owned (and family run) vineyard and sat with the owner drinking wine and talking about family and life. It was really great......and Jan made this happen. Slovenia and the Julian Alps are absolutely stunning, the people are wonderful, the mountain huts are an incredible experience and I couldn't rate this trip any higher. Thank you, Jan and thank you, Triglav Tours.

The trip went really well! I got slightly misplaced a couple of times, but it was easy enough to get back on track, so I would say the Ride With GPS routing was excellent. I had five nights in the huts and it was good planning to have a hut with a shower in the middle. Of the six days of hiking I would say that days 1, 2, 4, and 5 were great. Day 3 was extremely long and the final descent on day 6 was a bit of a slog. I guess it is unavoidable that getting up to and down from the high mountains involves some steep/long sections but I would have preferred a route that did not involve coming down and crossing a low valley in the middle. The people running the first two huts had some confusion with the reservation but I think this was their issue, not an issue with hut-to-hut Slovenia, as the other three reservations went fine. Couple of points that might be good to add to the advice for travelers. A 1.5 litre bottle of water is running about 6 euro. If you have a beer, dinner, and lunch (either at a hut or to take away) then I think a reasonable daily budget is something like 25 or maybe even 30 euro. Some of the huts take cash and some do not. The electronic payment system at some of the huts was sometimes down, so it is really important to bring sufficient cash. Finally, and maybe especially for American travelers, you really do need to bring your own toilet paper. Yes, some huts are supplied with TP but some are not.
We booked a two day hike to summit Mount Triglav through Hut to hut hiking Slovenia. The service was great and they provided very helpful information as well as answering the questions we had. Our guides, Andraž and Rok, were super kind and professional. The hike was challenging but well worth it, all in all an amazing experience.

I can’t say enough of how wonderful this company is, we had a customized tour including multiple activities, we had to change the itinerary due to quick changing weather, Klemen took great care of the group, very professional and very caring about the group, I would recommend him and his company.
I was unable to travel to Slovenia and do this hut to hut trip after all, but Triglav was extremely prompt and helpful in answering our many questions as we were planning our travels. Our guide was fun and very knowledgeable, she told us so much about the culture and places we have hiked in. You get to see many pastures on the way, each with its own story. The Julian Alps felt so unreal, like straight from a fairytale. The tour was nicely organized and we felt very comfortable at all times. The tour is not too hard but can be made harder if you feel like it, there are so many peaks all around.

A perfect hike for a family! It is not too easy but quite manageable with all the huts on the way so you really don't have to carry too much with you and on the third day, you can make a great rest by the beautiful river. We had a great guide who showed us around and took care of all the organization around the accommodation and food. The communication with the team before the tour was spot on and we have really enjoyed the hike worry-free. We have seen a great portion of the region and after the tour we simply chilled in Bled.
I am so happy I did this 5 day tour across the Julian Alps. It is very diverse and you get to see so much beautiful nature, from high alps on the first part to amazing Soca River and Trenta valley where we stayed for two nights. This part of the country is simply breathtaking. Those two parts of Slovenia are really popular so we met quite a lot of people but on the last part we crossed the Komna valley and it was much quieter and completely different from the rest of the mountains. We had a great guide in our group and he told us all the fun stories and was cheering for us during the hard parts. The organization of the tour was perfect and I think I will come again to Slovenia for more hut to hut hiking.

The 7 lake valey hike was really beautiful, not so much challenging and totally rewarding. Incredible views, nice huts with food and drinks along the way, not so many people and possibility to hike with your own pace - these made the hike really an experience of my life. Highly recommend to all beginners and a bit more advanced hikers.
Starting in a lovely alpine valley we slowly gained some altitude and the views opened up reaching a small pasture with a water spring. Son the terrain became more rugged and it got more alpine feel as well as more chilly air. After reaching the hut we stood before a steep wall - the upper part of Triglav summit. The last part is strenuous via ferrata that is protected very well. After returning from the top, we spent the night in the mountain hut and returned to the valley the next day. We enjoyed every minute of it!

This was a truly amazing experience! We really enjoyed our beautiful Seven Lakes Valley hike with an overnight stay at a mountain hut. The alpine scenery of mountains throughout the hike was simply stunning especially the crystal clear emerald lakes, which are absolutely breathtaking! The cosy mountain hut was a lifesaver after a long day’s hike, dinner was hearty and delicious, atmosphere was lively and the beds were warm and comfortable - overall a great experience! What made it all the more enjoyable was being in the safe hands of our brilliant guide, Klemen who was not only very experienced, professional and knowledgeable, but he was also extremely helpful and accommodating. He went out of his way to take care of our needs during the journey. From the start, he was very responsive and proactive in helping us arrange our itinerary in the best way possible to maximise our time there. We also did a private rock climbing session with him after the hike and it was awesome! We definitely enjoyed our time in Slovenia with him and highly recommend going with this company and a private guide like him if you are looking for a customised trip.
Our 3 day hike had to be rearranged 2/2 weather, so a one day hike was arranged for us. We appreciated the concern about weather and conditions. Our hike was with Matevz, who was a great guide. Very helpful and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend and will be back for a longer hike one day!

We had a lovely time and thought the route was great. We found that there was a nice balance of environments and places to stay. The GPS app was really easy to follow and made navigating easy along with all the other information provided. There were just a few points where information could be updated. 1. The pizzeria in trenta now says it is closed on Wednesdays not Mondays. This wasn't the end of the world as we were able to get food from the shop to cook. 2. On the soca valley day the section off the soca trail in the middle was a poorly kept path. Many trees had come down which we had to clamber over and if there is a section that day to be called adventurous it is definitely that section. 3. Further advice on luggage storage before the hike could be added. We found it was easy to store luggage at the tourist information in bohinj. 4. The price of the waterfall on the final day has increased to 4€ each But these are only minor and overall we had a fantastic time! Such a great adventure!
Beautiful guided route for our 3-day hut to hut. It included a variety of geography and landscapes and it challenged us in a good way. The organization and information we received from the company both before booking and during our trek was accurate and helpful. Our accommodations were as expected and they were comfortable enough and very welcoming. This was a wonderful way to be in the mountains and really experience them.
If I could give 100 stars, I would. I don't know if you're a big company or just two or three people behind this, but thank you for such an amazing experience. It was a beautiful adventure. The trails were perfect, each day different from the rest, and a natural beauty that I have seldom seen elsewhere. I had no experience in the world of hiking, and now I can't wait to do the next one! (hopefully next time organised by myself 😂). I had one of the best weeks of my whole life. Thank you a million guys.

My wife, son and I completed a 5-day privately guided hike in late August through the beautiful Julian Alps. Our guide Jan was amazing.....with rain of 3 out of 5 days, we were still able to hike every day (including an epic 11-mile hike on the last day) and think we ended up with an even better trip than originally planned! He was constantly checking the weather and pivoting us to different areas. Not originally planned was a hike in the wine region in which we visited a family owned (and family run) vineyard and sat with the owner drinking wine and talking about family and life. It was really great......and Jan made this happen. Slovenia and the Julian Alps are absolutely stunning, the people are wonderful, the mountain huts are an incredible experience and I couldn't rate this trip any higher. I was unable to travel to Slovenia and do this hut to hut trip after all, but Triglav was extremely prompt and helpful in answering our many questions as we were planning our travels. We were a big group and it was so much fun hiking in the Alps from hut to hut. The places we have stayed at were superb and very authentic, the food was amazing and the staff very friendly. Our guide was fun and very knowledgeable, she told us so much about the culture and places we have hiked in. You get to see many pastures on the way, each with its own story. The Julian Alps felt so unreal, like straight from a fairytale. The tour was nicely organized and we felt very comfortable at all times. The tour is not too hard but can be made harder if you feel like it, there are so many peaks all around.

Our guide Luka was fantastic, he took care of every little detail before and during the tour. He picked us up each at our hotels respectively and we made a short pit stop at a local bakery to get a second breakfast before starting the hike. The tour is extremely scenic, not too hard but far from easy three day hike where you see a great portion of the Alpe Guilia. The first day is quite long and you have a lot of uphill hiking of course but the second seemed like the hardest because of rockier terrain. The views are fantastic on the second day! The last day is a bit easier but we were already quite tired and were already looking forward to the end. I think I can recommend this tour to almost any hiker and even if you are not too experienced or fit the guide will always match your pace and make sure you are comfortable.

There are not so many views as you walk mostly in the valleys but when there are, they are breathtaking. They made sure we had the correct gear and arranged for a transfer from Ljubljana for us. The lodges we stayed at were nice and comfortable and all the bookings were made by the team. We had no problems during the tour and navigation felt easy, the routes are mostly nicely marked but there are some places where you have to be careful.
I am so happy I did this 5 day tour across the Julian Alps. It is very diverse and you get to see so much beautiful nature, from high alps on the first part to amazing Soca River and Trenta valley where we stayed for two nights. This part of the country is simply breathtaking. Those two parts of Slovenia are really popular so we met quite a lot of people but on the last part we crossed the Komna valley and it was much quieter and completely different from the rest of the mountains. We had a great guide in our group and he told us all the fun stories and was cheering for us during the hard parts. The organization of the tour was perfect and I think I will come again to Slovenia for more hut to hut hiking.
The 7 lake valey hike was really beautiful, not so much challenging and totally rewarding. Incredible views, nice huts with food and drinks along the way, not so many people and possibility to hike with your own pace - these made the hike really an experience of my life. Highly recommend to all beginners and a bit more advanced hikers.

A fantastic 3 day self guided Hut to Hut hike around Triglav National Park in Slovenia. We experienced a full range of weather which made it an unforgettable trip. The organisation and back up support with GPS maps etc was excellent. Hut staff were friendly and very happy to give advice and suggestions on the routes and directions. Would recommend.
My friends and I did a 3 day hut-to-hut hike in Triglav National Park this summer and loved it! Our guide, Bine, was very knowledgeable and provided necessary equipment and fun facts through the hike. We really enjoyed the via ferrata experience and we were happy to have someone guide us through the more technical aspects. The overnights in the huts were a blast with our guide and the other girls on our tour as well. Great way to see Triglav National park and meet new people! I cannot recommend Triglav tours enough!!
We had a lovely hike today with our guide Klemen. He personalized the tour on our needs and interests, so that we saw places we wouldn't without his experience. The hike was a little bit slippery after the rain from the last days and it went a lot upwards, but it was totally worth it! Thanks again :)

We had an incredible trek! The itinerary was exactly what we wanted, communication was excellent with the company. They were so helpful throughout the planning process and when we were in country. Slovenia exceeded our expectations. We can't recommend them enough!

The trip went really well! I got slightly misplaced a couple of times, but it was easy enough to get back on track, so I would say the Ride With GPS routing was excellent. I had five nights in the huts and it was good planning to have a hut with a shower in the middle. Of the six days of hiking I would say that days 1, 2, 4, and 5 were great. Day 3 was extremely long and the final descent on day 6 was a bit of a slog. I guess it is unavoidable that getting up to and down from the high mountains involves some steep/long sections but I would have preferred a route that did not involve coming down and crossing a low valley in the middle. The people running the first two huts had some confusion with the reservation but I think this was their issue, not an issue with hut-to-hut Slovenia, as the other three reservations went fine. Couple of points that might be good to add to the advice for travelers. A 1.5 litre bottle of water is running about 6 euro. If you have a beer, dinner, and lunch (either at a hut or to take away) then I think a reasonable daily budget is something like 25 or maybe even 30 euro. Some of the huts take cash and some do not. The electronic payment system at some of the huts was sometimes down, so it is really important to bring sufficient cash. Finally, and maybe especially for American travelers, you really do need to bring your own toilet paper. Yes, some huts are supplied with TP but some are not.
This three day hike was breath takingly beautiful! Diverse and stunning landscapes, with Klemens expert knowledge of the land, its history and culture blew me away :) I was a little apprehensive about my first solo trip, but from the first second was made to feel welcome and at ease. TOTALLY recommend, Thank you Klemen & Hut to Hut! Unforgettable experience :)

A perfect hike for a family! It is not too easy but quite manageable with all the huts on the way so you really don't have to carry too much with you and on the third day, you can make a great rest by the beautiful river. We had a great guide who showed us around and took care of all the organization around the accommodation and food. The communication with the team before the tour was spot on and we have really enjoyed the hike worry-free. We have seen a great portion of the region and after the tour we simply chilled in Bled.

Starting in a lovely alpine valley we slowly gained some altitude and the views opened up reaching a small pasture with a water spring. Son the terrain became more rugged and it got more alpine feel as well as more chilly air. After reaching the hut we stood before a steep wall - the upper part of Triglav summit. The last part is strenuous via ferrata that is protected very well. After returning from the top, we spent the night in the mountain hut and returned to the valley the next day. We enjoyed every minute of it!
